Parent/Kid Sessions Featured on ‘Kid Baltimore’ Blog

Judging by the popularity of our Parent/Kid sessions, we knew we were onto something. But even we were surprised and delighted to find we’d been “secret shopped” by Joyce Hesselberth of the popular “Kid Baltimore” blog. “Restaurant-quality food”, she wrote after bringing her daughter to dish on July 31st; “directions are super clear, and the ingredients are beautiful and fresh.” And when she invited the extended family to their first meal? “Disappeared before I knew what happened,” she beamed.

As Joyce noted, Let’s Dish! Parent/Kid sessions are a great chance to efficiently combine kid entertainment with household chores. Overall, the meals are “a big hit” she says. And we couldn’t agree more. Check out the complete Kid Baltimore write-up here. Or sign up for your own Parent/Kid experience (one kid, age 8+, per parent please!). Happy dishing!

You know you’re a new mom when…

We’ve enjoyed meeting and seeing a lot of new moms in all our Let’s Dish! stores this week thanks to our special FREE Meals for New Moms promotion. Here’s one funny story from a new mom’s “freezer experience” in our Gaithersburg, MD, store. Thanks for sending it in, Dawn!

A mom stopped by today with her baby and birth certificate, and when she got ready to leave she couldn’t find the birth certificate. Eileen (our customer service manager) and I helped her look for it and it turned up in the retail freezer! We all laughed that the incident was proof she is a new mom - only a sleep deprived mom would forget the birth certificate in the freezer! As she left, she said she can keep up with her baby but can’t be responsible Dawn Brownwith anything else.

I thought you might enjoy hearing about how we are helping new moms!!

To prepare for your dinner, pick a country or a culture for the week (take turns letting different family members pick the country or put a bunch of names in a hat, and draw one out each week).

And now for a canine adventure!

First, say hello to Holly Wildberger - or Holly “Dub” as we like to call her - the food team Development Coordinator for the Let’s Dish! stores in the Mid-Atlantic. Holly W is the woman behind many of the recipes you enjoy on our monthly menu and a key ingredient in the testing process for all our tasty Let’s Dish! meals. We are fortunate that beginning next week, she will lend her expertise to Food for Thought, as she takes us on a tour of cuisines around the world.
