This month’s adventure isn’t just about international flavor! As a part of our Culinary Inspiration category, we’ll be discussing all sorts of topics for foodies (or those aspiring to be one) as cooking can be its own daily adventure. The Let’s Dish! food team in the mid-Atlantic knows their way around the kitchen and will share cooking tips and recipes with you, suggest new ways to approach food in your life, and pass on some of their favorites - in all sorts of categories. In today’s post we introduce Holly Cole, our food team assistant, as she kicks off a series we call, “Gadgets We Love“: tools and gadgets for your home that … well, we love!

Grow your own: Visit the AeroGrow website

If you are a true foodie like all of us at Let’s Dish! - and up for a little adventure in gardening, you’ll love this cool kitchen gadget!

The Aero Garden is an indoor vegetable garden. In today’s day and age, many of us are nervous about the unknown surrounding the produce you pick up in the grocery store, but buying all organic is expensive. So, how great would it be to control how your family’s vegetables are grown? No pesticides or chemicals! From cilantro to cherry tomatoes to chili peppers - and all the “usual” herb, veggies, fruits and flowers in between, you grow your own fresh ingredients.

I got one for my dad last year for Christmas and he loves it. Fresh herbs and garden vegetables all year long, right on the kitchen counter. I bet the children in your lives would love to grow their own veggies - what a great learning experience. And, don’t just take our word for it; the New York Times called this little gadget “a farmer’s market in your kitchen” and Good Morning America “one of the top new consumer products!”

Visit the AeroGrow website to see all the different types of AeroGardens and seed kits. We counted over 35 types of different foods you can plant and grow on the AeroGarden website. You can also learn about the science and technology behind the kitchen garden appliance.

We will warn you that this isn’t one of those inexpensive “As Seen on TV” product - it’s a investment for a consumer product that comes with considerable product development and long-term savings if you “grow your own.” And, importantly, it has a money-back guarantee if you don’t get that garden growing.

All in all, I think the AeroGarden is a great gadget to get for your family. Now, getting your thumb to the proper shade of green … that’s up to you!

I bought an AeroGarden as well and I have had the same great experience. I planted Gourmet Herbs and they just keep sprouting like mad! I love to cook for my hubbie and 3 kids and would recommend the AeroGarden for any housewife who loves to cook fresh for their families.
