Looking for something to do this weekend? We recommend you head to to the Maryland Science Center for some hands-on fun with your kids as they absorb important information about their body and how to keep it healthy!
Several fantastic new exhibits on the human body have just opened for a limited time in the mid-Atlantic. Visit these along with the Science Center’s permanent exhibits on body and health, and your kids (and even you) will be learning without even realizing it! Be sure to visit the Maryland Science Center’s website to choose an exhibit that is age appropriate for your family.

Keeping the Beat: Heart Health
February 13th at 2:00 PM in the Kids Room
Exercise your body, listen to your heart, be an artery and join in the fun as we celebrate heart health month. Discover how exercise and eating healthy foods help your heart as you play games and conduct exciting experiments. We promise you will leave the Kids Room pumped up about hearth health. The Kids Room is designed around early childhood development - the Science Center lists it as age appropriate for infants through children under 8 with adult supervision.
While you’re there, you can visit two more terrific permanent exhibits:
Your Body: The Inside Story - Your Body: The Inside Story explores a day in the life of the body, with an emphasis on the sounds, smells, sights, and sensations of everyday life. Click here to read more.- Body Links - Covering the latest in health and the human body, BodyLink features a WetLab for high touch, high tech exploration. Test your nutrition I.Q. Monitor your body’s pulse and heart rate as you pedal a stationary bike. Part media center, part discovery room, and part newsroom, BodyLink brings you the “latest and greatest” in Health Science and Healthcare. Click here for more information.
Visit the Maryland Science Center website for more information on these exhibits, details on tickets and directions.
Have fun, and maybe we’ll see you there! My kids love the Science Center - laughing and squealing at all the “grody stuff,” plus there ARE dinosaurs there which are my favorite!
