Be smart with storage (especially for Let’s Dish! leftovers)

Smart Spin OrganizerWhen in our Let’s Dish! stores, I often hear customers struggle whether to prepare full or split dishes – 6 servings is a little more than you need but a half portion may leave you hungry. I personally always opt for a full portion (even when our youngest was not yet eating solids) because I prefer one effort that results in lunch for tomorrow rather than less for tonight. But, what to do with the leftovers?

Like most, I struggle with the dreaded storage cabinet – my least favorite place in my kitchen. Despite my best attempts at organization (and I have even ordered those “lid storage options” that don’t seem to fit MY lids), the cabinet is a jumble of Tupperware (from 15 years ago), Gladware, and other reusable containers (though I have to give props to Hillshire Farms for the cold cuts in the Gladware tubs – very clever). They are my nemesis. The containers are stacked too high and fall out on the floor. And, then there is those durn lids – it’s almost as if they purposely hide from me when I need a particular one (letter T, size 3, why do they never fit?) and then taunt me when I find it the next day. Post-dinner and/or lunch packing is a nightmare – and I seem to have to reorganize that particular cabinet about every three weeks.

Fortunately, we have a resolution solution for your storage needs! I thought everyone would benefit from Caitlin’s tip on the Smart Spin – relief from your storage nightmares. I’ve already ordered mine and actually look forward to packing up our Let’s Dish! leftovers now – it’s not only easy, but I smile a little each time thinking of how smart I was to solve this problem.

Start fresh in the New Year by replacing your old, stained or mismatched food storage containers with a Smart Spin ($20). In less than one square foot of space, you’ll have 24 containers in three sizes–and all of them use the same size lid! I have used them in every kitchen I have organized for my clients. They are a great way to store all those delicious leftovers from Let’s Dish!
